The name of this Luxor restaurant describes it perfectly. Of the many
and varied restaurants in Luxor this certainly is the JEWEL, with top marks for
food, service, cleanliness and price. Being slightly off the beaten track
doesn’t deter people from finding what I can only describe as Luxor’s premier
restaurant. With a good selection of both Egyptian and International
cuisine you can be sure that all the dishes are freshly prepared with local
produce. What a refreshing change to find a restaurant where making money
is not their prime target. A well run establishment with a warm family
atmosphere and a real understanding of the word service. If you’re making
a list of ‘ones to try’ make sure you put this one at the top because I can
guarantee you’ll want to return before you go home. Well done Jewel of the
Nile.
“Laura, if you are reading this, thanks again for the knives,(although I got an odd one in the mix, no probs, I only needed four!!). My other half and I ate four times at your restaurant because we wanted to try out other eateries recommended on tripAdvisor. “We ate here twice and found this to be the best restaurant we went to. The host was a lovely lady. It is a little like eating in someones front room; the only problem we had really was the lack of air conditioning-there were fans and small air conditionng units by the tables but they tending to make the air… more “

“We first found this little jem last year by accident and am delighted to come back and still find the quality, service and friendliness that made it our best restaurant on our last visit. A little off the normal tourist trail so a slightly longer walk for some but well worth the effort. The decor is sedate and peaceful with… more “
“After trying 10 different restaurants in Luxor, this one has to be the best by far. I have never written a review for a restaurant before but felt this one worthy of praise. The food, service and atmosphere couldn’t be faulted. I tried several of their Egyptian dishes, my favourites being the beef shawarma and beef hala (not sure if… more “

The Ohm Ali is an excellent pudding and well worth… more “
“Me and my 2 kids visited Jewel of the Nile as I scribbled a few names down from this site before we went. It is a bit of the beaten track and not with other restaurants and I was a bit put off when we were the only people there to begin with. It is also very small compared to… more “

“A super restaurant – helpful service, very good food, deserves its reviews, tries to please, we ate Egyptian on both times and enjoyed it immensely. A very relaxed atmosphere. If we go again, we’d eat here, Snobs and Taste of India, as our best of the 10 we ate in. Very reasonable prices too, only a fraction above the cheapest… more “
“The most friendly welcome you could imagine. From previous reviews it was easy to recognise Laura; so friendly, welcoming and informative. Good Egyptian menu which Laura guided us through and advised us on impeccably. For the not-so-adventurous there is the international menu and for those who can stand the heat in the kitchen on Sunday a full roast dinner! Excellent… more “
