Ranweli Holiday Village Hotel Holiday Reviews
“We arrived at Ranweli at 6am after out flight being delayed for 18 hours. We were shown to our room which was a lovely individual bungalow for two. Our first experience of the food was breakfast Which was stone cold. I was starving after a 10 hour flight and was greeted with a cold cooked breakfast. That evening after relaxing”
“After reading some of the other reviews we thought about what we liked and disliked. In essence we didnt dislike anything really. As others have written the worst part was the lack of certain drinks in the all inclusive menu (Diet Coke Wine Etc) but this is easily outweighted by the many positives. These include: Amazing beachside pool Roomy Beach”
“Arriving at the lagoon and being taken across by barge is a great way to wake you up following a 10 hour flight. Ranweli is not your average resort or hotel this is something you should be aware of before you book. If you have kids it’s not for them its a couples resort without the extras that a family”
“This was our first stop on a 7 destination tour of sri lanka and an excellent way to ease ourselves into it and recover from the flight. We absoletly loved it! Admitdely there are some odities (the service was at times a bit strange) but Sri Lanka is very different to Western culture and the place is also very cheap . “
“We have just returned from the Ranweli as part of a new year get away. We had a great time th staff are extremely friendly and will do anything for you. The only thing I didn’t like about the hotel is that all inclusive isn’t as all inclusive as I would have expected for the price we paid. Things like”
“Overall we enjoyed our stay at Ranweli. The rooms were clean and had everything you need but I recommend asking for a mosquito net. It is also worth asking for a room closest to the beach for the best sunset views. The staff were very friendly and always happy to help. It is very remote but that is what”
“We arrived after our 10.5 hour flight reasonably okay as our body clock meant we had slept a little. After a drive of about 30-45 minutes we were dropped off at the dock at around 5.00pm to be transported over the river via the raft just before sunset an absolutely stunning start to our holiday. Our room was basic”
“My husband kids and I visited Ranweli in late July to August 2008. We all absolutely loved it. We had 2 bungalows right by the beach (kids in one us in another). The rooms and bathrooms were very clean and comfortable. It was a joy to wake up listening to the waves crashing on the beach 20 ft away. The”
“Location:Ranwelli is about 30 minutes from the airport which is a lot less than the resorts to the south of Columbo. Ranwelli was very peaceful with sunsets over the sea. While we were there the wind from the south -west (slightly left as you looked out to sea) was almost constant quite stormy on a couple of nights. Staff; friendly”
