Ranweli Holiday Village Hotel Holiday Reviews
“We arrived at Ranweli at 6am after out flight being delayed for 18 hours. We were shown to our room which was a lovely individual bungalow for two. Our first experience of the food was breakfast Which was stone cold. I was starving after a 10 hour flight and was greeted with a cold cooked breakfast. That evening after relaxing”
“After reading some of the other reviews we thought about what we liked and disliked. In essence we didnt dislike anything really. As others have written the worst part was the lack of certain drinks in the all inclusive menu (Diet Coke Wine Etc) but this is easily outweighted by the many positives. These include: Amazing beachside pool Roomy Beach”
“Arriving at the lagoon and being taken across by barge is a great way to wake you up following a 10 hour flight. Ranweli is not your average resort or hotel this is something you should be aware of before you book. If you have kids it’s not for them its a couples resort without the extras that a family”
“This was our first stop on a 7 destination tour of sri lanka and an excellent way to ease ourselves into it and recover from the flight. We absoletly loved it! Admitdely there are some odities (the service was at times a bit strange) but Sri Lanka is very different to Western culture and the place is also very cheap . “
“We have just returned from the Ranweli as part of a new year get away. We had a great time th staff are extremely friendly and will do anything for you. The only thing I didn’t like about the hotel is that all inclusive isn’t as all inclusive as I would have expected for the price we paid. Things like”
“Overall we enjoyed our stay at Ranweli. The rooms were clean and had everything you need but I recommend asking for a mosquito net. It is also worth asking for a room closest to the beach for the best sunset views. The staff were very friendly and always happy to help. It is very remote but that is what”
“We arrived after our 10.5 hour flight reasonably okay as our body clock meant we had slept a little. After a drive of about 30-45 minutes we were dropped off at the dock at around 5.00pm to be transported over the river via the raft just before sunset an absolutely stunning start to our holiday. Our room was basic”
“My husband kids and I visited Ranweli in late July to August 2008. We all absolutely loved it. We had 2 bungalows right by the beach (kids in one us in another). The rooms and bathrooms were very clean and comfortable. It was a joy to wake up listening to the waves crashing on the beach 20 ft away. The”
“Location:Ranwelli is about 30 minutes from the airport which is a lot less than the resorts to the south of Columbo. Ranwelli was very peaceful with sunsets over the sea. While we were there the wind from the south -west (slightly left as you looked out to sea) was almost constant quite stormy on a couple of nights. Staff; friendly”
“went over there for my son’s wedding what a marvellous place the swimming pool was great swimming in the indian ocean was good though you need to be a good swimmer. the food wasalright but you obviously need to like spicey food though the chefs will cook you something differant if you give them a days notice. the staff were friendly”

Club Hotel Dolphin Holiday Reviews
“A group of 5 of us stayed from the 10 24 June after putting up with a nightmare booking system with first Choice we all needed the holiday. the flight was long but comfortable with plenty of leg room although I am only 5.3″ so was not really going to have a problem there. On arriving at the hotel”
“A strange title I admit but this was the favorite time of the day for us. From cottage number 92 you open your door onto palm trees and the beach. From our table and chairs on the terrace we watched the sun set out to sea with a hotel cocktail or three one appropriatly named a ‘screwdriver’. and let me”
“My Fiancé and I stayed at the Club Hotel Dolphin from 2nd June until 16th June and we had a great time; all the staff were fantastic from the waiters to the gardeners (one of the gardeners even brought me some fresh Aloe Vera leaves). Flight We flew with Qatar and they were very good a little bit”
“This is my 6th visit to the Dolphin and I think that it is excellent value for money. Yes the hotel could do with updating and the animators are not great but the food id great and the staff friendly. Sangem jewellers (opposite the hotel) are great value for money and Mohammed who used to be there has now opened”
“Hotel We had a deluxe room which was a good size and a large bathroom they were cleaned daily and had A/C. The food was fantastic with a wide choice for every meal time. The chefs cook some of the foods in front of your eyes! Great if you like curry for breakfast lunch and tea. 5 different curries”
“Just got back from the Dolphin after a really lovely and relaxing break. Must say that I spent months looking both on tip adviser beforehand and on the Forums and drove my friend and family mad with my paranoyers and thank everyone for their comments which are a very good guide Im going to give pointers on what we found”
“My husband and I stayed at the Club Dolphin the last week of May 2009. We had the best trip ever. We stayed in the cottages which admittedly are probably in need of updating but still we made the most of what we had and still managed to have a great time. The showers were quite unusual with the top”
“We went to Hotel Club Dolphin from 23rd May-6th June the hotel was fairly quiet probably half full. Before we went we had consulted trip advisor so we were prepared about what to expect and overall the hotel was what we expected and the food exceeded expectations. Flight and arrival We booked with Virgin but flew with Sri Lankian Airlines “
“we have just returned from our second holiday at this great hotel and it was just as good as the first stay in 2006. The food was in fact better this time I do think the rooms are in need of updating now as they are a bit tired looking. We did have the best hotel room right on”
“We went as a family 4 adults and 1 kid 19th may til 3rd jun. Got it at a reasonable price and got value for money. Disappointed in the Beach (we are beach lovers) quite dirty sea dirty and unswimmable. However the pool was great really big and clean. The hotel was pretty empty our 1st week but got a”
